What is Software Assurance?
The term “software assurance” or “software maintenance” is the customer’s guarantee that:
When a new version of a MADSolutions product that the customer is licensed for, is released, they are entitled to an upgrade to the new version without any additional cost.
When a customer upgrades to a new version of a Microsoft product, they are entitled to the version of the corresponding MADSolutions product for which they had licenses for the previous version of the Microsoft product.
The process of Software Assurance/Maintenance refers to the addition of new features or modification of existing ones by adding new modules and/or modifying existing code. Software Maintenance is defined as the continued development of a particular product to develop new features and release new versions of the software that contain these additional features and improvements.

For a customer to be eligible for Software Assurance, they must have a paid up to date software assurance agreement in place for the product they have licensed and wish to obtain the benefits for.
